Who Is
Adel Chefridi?
A Designer with a Global Story
Adel Chefridi was born in Tunis, Tunisia, a city known for its mix of North African, Mediterranean, and Arab cultures. Growing up surrounded by this diversity shaped his creativity. In 1998, he moved to New York City and started teaching himself how to make jewelry in a small Brooklyn kitchen—no fancy tools or training, just determination. Over time, he turned this hobby into a career, studying at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), one of the world’s top schools for jewelry and gemstones.
Today, Chefridi runs studios in both New York and Tunis, blending his Tunisian heritage with modern American style. His designs often feature symbols from ancient cultures, like intricate engravings or a pattern of four tiny dots arranged like a compass. He says this “compass” design represents balance and harmony—ideas that matter to him and show up in every piece he makes.
